
Albert LeDoux

and Director of the Bach Choir and Orchestra
Albert LeDoux
spent fifteen years as a professional
chorister and conductor with opera companies in Regensburg, Heidelberg
and Dresden, with numerous choral ensembles in southern Germany, and with
the vocal chamber ensemble Vokaletta. A Louisiana native, he received
his undergraduate degree in oboe from Loyola University in New Orleans,
and a doctorate in conducting from the University of South Carolina, where
he was also a Fellow at the nationally recognized Conductors' Institute
and its partner program at the Spoleto Festival. For two seasons, he was
assistant conductor in charge of musical preparation for South Carolina
Opera; he also conducted productions for Opera at USC including Handel's
Imeneo and Pergolesi's La Vedova Ingegnosa and La Serva Padrona, and led
the university's early music ensemble. He also serves as the Director
of Music at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Robert Lynn
Musicological Advisor
Robert Lynn
is a musicologist, harpsichordist,
and organist. He earned a master's degree in organ from the Juilliard
School and a doctorate in musicology from Indiana University. He is a
Fellow of the American Guild of Organists and is Professor Emeritus at
the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. Dr. Lynn's scholarly research has made possible the presentation by the
Bach Choir of several heretofore unknown works. The Houston-Leipzig
Sister City Association awarded Dr. Lynn a travel grant to support his
research in Leipzig in December, 1998. He is the founding director of
the Bach Choir and Orchestra and served in that capacity until his retirement
in 2004.
