The newly discovered St. Matthew Passion (1786)from the archive of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, stored in Kiev since the end of World War II. The Bach Society is one of only five organizations in the world [the others are in Hamburg, Leipzig, Cambridge (MA), and Pittsburgh] chosen to take part in the introduction of this work considered lost for more than 50 years, by Johann Sebastian Bach's second son Carl Philipp Emanuel.

The Bach Society is one of only five organizations in the world [the others are in Hamburg, Leipzig, Cambridge (MA), and Pittsburgh] chosen to take part in the introduction of this work considered lost for more than 50 years, by Johann Sebastian Bach's second son Carl Philipp Emanuel.
