Inspired by the Roman bronze horse statues in St. Mark’s Basilica, the aptly named Dark Horse Consort is dedicated to unearthing the majestic late Renaissance and early Baroque repertoire for brass instruments. This program features the works of composers Samuel Scheidt, Andreas Hammerschmidt and Johann Rosenmüller, played on cornetti, period trombones, recorders, harpsichord and organ.
