Today, the Bach Choir sang in the gothic cathedral at Meissen, which is right next to the massive Albrechtsburg Castle at the top of the great castle hill.
After singing a 40 minute program to a large, appreciate audience, we proceeded to visit the Weingut vineyard in nearby Proschwitz, where vintner Walter Beck gave a tour of the cellar and a thorough talk on how wine is produced.
At the end of the the bottling room, we sang Berger’s The Eyes of All, the text of which was Martin Luther’s table prayer. For a video of this spontaneous performance, jump on over to our facebook page... where it is now posted! After singin, we then sampled five different types of wine produced only in the Saxony region. Mmmmm...
This evening we’re relaxing in preparation for our most important program of the tour tomorrow — our solo performance for the BachFest at Thomaskirche, where Johann Sebastian Bach wrote many of his most important works! For now, enjoy yet another beautiful photo of the cathedral at Meissen. *Swoon*
