Bach Academy of the South
A new intensive training program for students | May 14–16, 2021
Bach Academy of the South is a new three-day intensive training program for college/university students. From May 14–16, 2021, participants will work with professional musicians from Bach Society Houston on performance practice, and have the opportunity to perform live with fellow students.

Program Information:

Performances in Houston and Galveston

Will assist in providing access to period instruments

Transportation between Houston and Galveston will be provided

Housing in Bach Society Houston patron homes

Instrumentalists: A solo baroque piece (period instrument not required). A movement from a lengthy work is acceptable.

Singers: A baroque piece written between approximately 1600 and 1750. Music by Handel or Bach is recommended, but a work by other composers during this period is encouraged as well.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in university or college music program.
