The Bach Choir is on to Leipzig
As. As you read this, the Bach Choir is on to Leipzig — literally!
After our 9 hour flight (which stops briefly in Munich), we arrive in Leipzig and take a quick break. Then at 9:30 P.M. Leipzig time, we have our first rehearsal at Thomaskirche (where J.S. Bach spent most of his career), where we’ll be preparing to sing motets by Johann Sebastian and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach for Thomaskirche’s 500 Minutes of Bach, a pre-BachFest concert celebrating both the music of the Bach Family and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
We’ll be back with daily updates over the next few weeks — be sure to follow the Bach Choir’s tour on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and of course right here on our Blog!
