Until we meet again Leipzig!

Hallo,

Yesterday evening, the Bach Choir sang its final concert of the BachFest/Germany tour in the Dorfkirche (“Village Church”) at Kleinmachnow, just outside of Berlin.

For us, this concert was particularly special because it was to benefit the growing congregation’s building a new church building, as the sanctuary from 1597 was simply too small for their members. We are happy to report that the concert was indeed packed, and they were perhaps our most enthusiastic audience (save for the 1500 we sang for yesterday at Thomaskirche in Leipzig!).

Today, we attended the final concert of the BachFest, the monumental Mass in B Minor (which, incidentally, will open the Bach Society’s 2017–18 season on September 24!). Afterward, we enjoyed a closing dinner, and then on Monday a third of the choir will return to Houston, while the rest will go on to other exciting adventures throughout Europe and beyond!
